Individual therapy can help with a wide range of issues, including mental health disorders, relationship problems, and life transitions. In a safe and confidential space,  we can work together to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, identify areas for improvement, develop coping mechanisms, improve communication skills, and and more

During your first session, I will try to get a feel for who you are and how we can work together to achieve your goals. I will want to get a sense of what brings you to therapy, and will likely ask some questions to get a better understanding of your overall life. Knowing more about you will help make the work more productive. However, I recognize that it is sometimes difficult to open up to a stranger, and trust can take time to build. I encourage all of my clients to set the pace at which they feel comfortable sharing.

The first session is also a chance for you to get a sense of who I am and if I would be someone you are comfortable with. I encourage you to raise any concerns you have about the therapy process and ask any questions that will help you understand how I work.

By the end of the first session I will give you my general impressions of what we have talked about and also a sense of whether or not I think I can be of help. I encourage all clients to evaluate carefully whether they feel comfortable working with me since therapy involves a commitment of time, money, and energy. I will be happy to help you set up a meeting with another mental health professional for a second opinion if it seems like I would not be the best person to help you. At anytime, you can ask questions, revisit our goals, and make changes to our plan.

I typically meet with clients weekly at a set time for 50 minutes. Consistency is important, but if you need to make changes to the frequency or time of your meeting I will do my best to accommodate.

Fees for an intake session are $250 and for each follow up session $200.

Couples therapy can help couples identify and address the underlying issues and patterns that are causing their conflicts., improve communication, and help couples learn to listen to each other, understand different perspectives, and communicate more effectively.

Couples therapy is also effective for people looking to strengthen their bond and develop healthier ways of relating to each other while also helping each partner understand themselves and their own needs.

During our fist session I will want to hear about what brought you in to therapy, get a sense of your history together, the nature of your conflicts and your strengths as a couple. My approach is generally consistent with EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) but I have been trained in a variety of schools and systems and will take an approach that fits best with your needs.

As we move through life, our families face many challenges including major life transitions like moving or changes due to medical condition, aging or the death of a loved one, relationship conflicts, fertility issues, mental health concerns, substance abuse, and divorce.

Therapy can help families  identify and build on their strengths, develop more effective communication and problem-solving skills, and allow family members to explore difficult topics and emotions safely. This creates an understanding of each other's experiences and appreciate each other's needs and limits.

Much of my training and experience is in the area of supervision. I work with pre- and post-doctoral psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and mental health counselors who are interested in receiving ongoing supervision on their work. I also provide in-person and phone consultation to therapists on professional issues and cases. I also offer therapy for mental health professionals, which may include elements of consultation or supervision depending on the needs of the client. My fees for supervision is $200
